The Micropolicy Institute
Our Mission
We believe in common-sense change. Our legislative process often screeches to a halt due to controversial proposals by legislators tacking on issues to lengthy, dense bills. To avoid this and effectuate real positive change, our purpose is to narrowly tailor bills to specific, uncontroversial measures that benefit our society. Our non-partisan organization aims to unite legislators and their constituents based on long-overdue common-sense initiatives. Just because our bills are short in length does not mean they lack discernment; since they are concise, we can fully understand the issue and pass comprehensive measures without tackling divisive topics. We hope to improve the efficiency of our legislatures and create positive change in our communities. If you want to help us in our mission, you can reach us under the “Submit Your Idea” tab.
Legislation
Students' Mental Health is Health Act
This straightforward piece of proposed legislation would clarify that absences due to mental and behavioral health are excused and are just as valid as those for physical health.
We believe that mental and behavioral health is just as important as physical health to a student's well-being.
This will clarify the statute to get rid of any ambiguity that may arise, providing clear guidelines for departments and boards of education to follow.
